Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21, 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. She was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of school after her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. She was struggling to make ends meet at the time she landed her first acting role as Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated for an Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford's character in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace quit the show in 2005 to focus on a more significant role in movies, and had a role opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. She was in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 as well as Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. She reprised her role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the main character Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. The year was 2013, and she appeared in the sixth episode of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as older in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was a teenager when she appeared in small parts in a few films directed from her father. She also worked with her brother in 2001's famous film Donnie Darko. One of her latest roles included the protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal debuted as a writer and director in 2021 with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
